When I’m not working, you can find me training dogs, loving on animals, camping, and hiking. If you are interested — meet my dogs and some of my cats, below!
This is Berlin (Sept. 21, 2012 – March 16, 2025).
Berlin was my heart and soul dog!
Berlin moved with me from Kansas to California to New Mexico. She was my companion through PhD applications, my doctoral program, dissertation, and my role as an assistant professor. She passed away just a couple days after I was approved for promotion and tenure.
Berlin was my first agility partner and most consistent dog I’ve ever met. She gave me the confidence to be brave in live and to keep learning agility! She is missed every single day.

This is Arizona, aka Crazy AZ, the Red Dog, Wild Child, Spicy Pepperoni-Arizoni!
AZ is my first (of many) rescues from the Arizona Border Collie Rescue who is WILDLY in love with life. She has been the most challenging, difficult, and rewarding dog I’ve ever trained. She is a beast on the course with constant drive, a smile, amazing skills, and never ending love for me, the game, and her pack. She is the most loyal dog I have ever met.
She taught me that hard work, consistency, creativity, and patience will lead to amazing results.

Meet Missoula-oula-oula, but Don’t Let My Face Fool Ya, aka Zuzu, “the pink dog”!
Missoula is my second rescue from the Arizona Border Collie Rescue. Missoula is fun and FAST! She is EXTREMELY extremely talented, smart, and LIVES for the agility game! She is could never be a pet — she is a working dog!
Zuzu has taught me the importance of being present, experiencing joy, and anything can happen within a micro-second! She continues to teach me new things every day!

This is Pompeii, the newest addition to our family!
Pompeii is my third rescue from the Arizona Border Collie Rescue, although she is only has a little tiny bit of border collie in her!
While Pompeii is still developing her full personality, she is already a firecracker! She loves playing with older, bigger dogs and has NO problem keeping up! She is super smart, loves to learn, is a bit sassy (and drives us crazy OFTEN), but she is turning into such a wonderful puppy!

We also have many lovely cats with many different personalities!
Meet Luna (the lover), Ava (the mischievous), Cairo (thinks he’s a dog), and Pi (the momma’s boy)!
